| so i was called into one of the notorious schools in the city--- ROUGH is one word.
-the first thing i saw on the teacher's desk was a note from last day's TOC-- "so-and-so" had to be removed from the classroom by the principal, etc"
-I decided to say a prayer for the bell went
-and guess what? It was a marvelous moment! a) Math: they worked completely SILENTLY, b) Writing-- it took a bit of time for them to settle, but afterwards, they respected my requests
c) the "troublemaker"-- i decided to work with "them" one on one. And guess what? "they" gave me respect :D
Despite being a half day, it went relatively well. I also learned that the "trouble maker" had some learning disabilities, so my one-to-one attention actually probably helped "them" learn.

| movie: Battle of the Wits... it's quite good... totally mocks an incompetent king (i think a true historical figure). Andy Lau stars as a Mozi-tribe man whose job is to help the Liang's defend themselves from the Zhao's (he's on a "universal love" philosophy)... But after helping out the Liang's, the king knocks him (and all the talented, helpful heroes) down to reinforce the king's status and power. But of course, did the enemies "really" retreat??? I liked all those battle strategies... I wonder if they were really used? It's a HK, Korea, Japan co-production... I wonder why they chose this story? Have there been battles where universal love resulted in peace (it failed here)? | | |
